It depends, on the type of food you will be having, as every catering trailer is designed for different purposes. When you contact us we will let you know what space is required. However, as a guide our largest catering trailer is 6.7m (22ft) and this is brought on site by a towing vehicle. If space is an issue we may be able to cater from one of our commercial grade catering marquees.
We place all of the catering related rubbish within the agreed area into refuse sacks and deposit these in the on-site bins. If the site has recycling bins we will separate the rubbish accordingly.
Yes, we can, we will ask you some key questions about your event and put a proposal together.
Yes, we can help as we have an extensive menu choice. However, our advice is to give people a good choice of healthy and traditional event food which may include burgers. Experience and the surveys we have conducted show that when people are paying for their own food, they want to choose what they can eat and not have a forced choice, which usually results in complaints to the event organizers.
We don’t publish price lists because the price depends on a number of different factors, for example how many people do you need catering for, what menu you would like, in which town and county will your event be held, the period of time over which you require our catering service. Once we have all of the relevant information we can send you a quote.
We will always try to beat other genuine like for like quotes from established caterers.
Our units are self contained and therefore, we can bring along our own supplies, however, for private parties, weddings, events in residential areas we ask for an electrical supply to be provided. This is to ensure that we do not disrupt the event or disturb your neighbours by using a generator. If the event lasts for a number of days we may ask for a back up supply to be available, however, we will discuss this further if required.
If we are operating at a public event near you and of course doing the menu that you are interested in, we are happy to invite you along to sample the food. If for some reason this is not possible, we can put you in touch with clients we have catered for and you can satisfy yourself about the food and service we provide.
Yes you can. It can be a telephone or face to face meeting. You can make an appointment to visit us at our offices or in some cases we may be able to visit you at your office/home/venue etc.
If you give us all of the details, we can see what we can do to help.
Unfortunately, we get a lot of calls and emails like this. Whilst they will probably never tell you the real reason, we think it could be one of the following:
They are new caterers and after working out their overheads (food stock, fuel to and from the venue, travelling time, gas bottles, petrol for generator, hire of the catering unit, staff wages etc) they have realised that they have not quoted you properly.
They took your event on when they had no other work, they have now been offered a more lucrative job, this particularly happens if your event is on a Saturday or Sunday in May, June, July, August or September when there are hundreds of public events running and a caterer can easily quadruple the amount of money they would typically earn at a wedding or private function.
There are a number of caterers who publish a mobile telephone number and no address, be very careful, if they let you down or don’t provide the service you have paid for, you have no way of finding them!
If you are quoted £5.00 per head for a small to medium party or wedding, in order to make the event viable the caterer will probably be using white fish (the flesh of many different types of fish) rather than pure fillets of cod or other fish.
It is important to bear in mind that the average price of fish and chips in a chip shop in the UK is around £6.50, this is based on you travelling to the shop, queuing and collecting your food.
If you are hiring a fish and chip caterer you are not only paying for the food but for the fuel to and from the venue, travelling time, gas bottles, petrol for generator, generator hire, exclusive hire of the catering unit, wear and tear, staff wages etc
Although you may only want your food served over a 1-2 hour period, the caterer may have a 2 hour journey each way, need another 2 hours to set up and 2 hours to clean down and pack away at the end of the event. So a 1 hour serving period can be a 9 hour day for a caterer.
Therefore, if someone is quoting you a price that seems too good to be true, then it probably is and you may be let down at the last minute!
Food Lovers Delight is an established company and has been in business for many years. As we operate a fleet of catering vehicles should an issue occur with one vehicle we can normally substitute it with another. We have a dedicated team that specialises in weddings and private parties. We provide realistic quotes so we all know what we will be getting from the outset. Our reputation is important to us, it has got us this far. We hope that our good reputation will continue but it will only do so if we act ethically and responsibly.
This is a public event, where food is being sold directly to individuals.
