Which areas are covered for Mobile Catering

We often get asked if we travel to a particular area of the country and the likelihood is yes we do! Food Lovers Delight is a nationwide catering company with offices in London and Hertfordshire where the administrative work is done. However, our work and passion takes us all over the country and occasionally beyond the UK!

To give you an idea of where we travel, here is the journey that our team recently embarked upon whilst we were catering for a roadshow. We started our journey in the beautiful country of Wales. Taking in both North and South Wales with stops along the way in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Barry, Wrexham, Llandudno, we got the opportunity to stop at lots of villages along the way. We loved Wales! With all of the beautiful castles making Wales the historic country it is, we can't wait to visit again soon as we have a number of forthcoming bookings in the area.

After crossing the Welsh/English border we spent a fair bit of time in the North West of England visiting Cheshire, Cumbria, Manchester, Blackpool and Liverpool. On this trip we mainly visited the city centres however, in the past we have provided catering in many of the surrounding towns such as Bolton, Burnley and the Wirral (or it is on the Wirral? In line with the great debate we are not sure which is the best way to address the area, but we do know its a great place). Our trip continued on into England, where we were next stationed in Harrogate and even got to visit some of the lovely tea rooms situated there before continuing on through Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham.

We were then firmly on our descent back South when we received a call, we had to go back up North for a last-minute promotion that required catering in the Newcastle area. No matter how many times we see the Angel of the North it still takes our breath away! After a few days in and around Middlesbrough, Darlington and Scarborough it was back to where we left off setting off for the Midlands.

We then spent so much time in and around the Midlands including Stoke on Trent, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Birmingham, Peterborough and Northampton that it began to feel like our second home.

The second to last leg of the journey took in plenty of sights around the historic cities of Oxford and Cambridge, both places we know well as we have catered for many events in Oxford and Cambridge, especially a number of university balls and events.

The final stages of the roadshow took us to Luton in Bedfordshire, Reading, Newbury, Basingstoke, Southampton, Portsmouth, Worthing and Brighton. After a few days off enjoying the seaside coast, we ventured into Kent which brought back a lot of childhood memories in places such as Maidstone, Margate, Folkestone, Canterbury and Gillingham before crossing over into Essex to Colchester, Southend and Chelmsford.

At the end of our journey, we sat back and reviewed all of the places that we visited with the aid of our map book and realised that the only places missing on this occasion were Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Suffolk, Norfolk and Scotland, otherwise, we would have covered virtually every major place in the UK. We are lucky and thankful to have a passion which takes us all over the country.

Now, if you have read this so far, you're probably feeling tired after taking in all of the places we visited and we certainly needed a rest after our nationwide tour, however, during our travels, it was important to us to ensure that we also kept our carbon footprint down. Keeping our carbon footprint down was achieved wherever possible by doing things such as allocating a catering unit to the job which was from the nearest base to the local area; we often group jobs together so our team could work in a specific place for a number of weeks. Often the catering for our events was resourced by using local staff who travelled to the events by public transport or by car-sharing in some of the more remote areas. We also wherever possible sourced local produce, organic or seasonal foods.

So if you are planning an event, the chances are we have catering units near you so feel free to contact us. If you use our online contact form it will guide you through the questions we need to know to provide you with a quote for your event. We look forward to hearing from you!
